Sample data.

Data structure:

The data structure related to stratigraphic information necessary for the proper functioning of the plugin is as follows:

  • Sondaggio.shp is a layer that identifies the individual surveys and is linked to other tables
    • a table strato.dbf is in one to many (one survey, many layers) connection with sondaggio.dbf
    • a table geo.dbf is in one to one connection with strato.dbf
    • a table idro.dbf is in one to one connection with strato.dbf
  • the individual tables are structured as follows:
    • table sondaggio.shp contains, among others, the following fields:
      • SOUND_ID: key identifier of the survey and is used for the connection to the table strato.dbf
      • QPC: height of the floor of the survey
    • table strato.dbf is in connection with the table sondaggio.dbf. Contains, among others, the following fields:

      • SOUND_ID: key identifier of the survey and is used for the connection to the table sondaggio.dbf
      •

      • STRATO_ID: position number within the stratum of the survey (from top to bottom)
      •

      • DESC: description of the single layer
      •

      • DAPC_TETT: distance of the top of the layer from the floor of survey
      • DAPC_LETT: distance of the button of the layer from the floor of survey
      • GEO_ID: key field to link to the table geo.dbf
      •

      • IDRO_ID: key field to link to the table idro.dbf
    • table geo.dbf affiliated with strato.dbf table. Contains the following fields:

      • GEO_ID: key field to link to the table strato.dbf
      •

      • GEO_DESC: description of the geological formation
      •

      • GEO_COLO: color associated with the geological formation

    • table idro.dbf affiliated with strato.dbf table. Contains the following fields:

      • IDRO_ID: key field to link to the table idro.dbf
      • IDRO_DESC: description of the geological formation
      •

      • IDRO_COLO: color associated with the geological formation

Instructions for the usage of the plugin:

After installing the plugin by following the above steps, you can try:

  1. Click on the spanner tool at ARPAT toolbar or the menu item 'Plugins -> ARPAT -> ARPAT Configuration'

  3. Select the path to folder that contain all the data. If the folder is identified correctly following text will appear in the opened window 'Correct directory, all files have been found '. Then press the button 'OK'. NB: the data structure is documented.
  4. Click on the heart-shaped tool at ARPAT toolbar or the menu item 'Plugins -> ARPAT -> Load layer'. Survey layer will be added to the table of contents of the project.

In the new window the detailed information for each selected survey are displayed: stratigraphic columns, a vertical distances and others. It is possible to highlight the portion of the plan of campaign and the depth of the survey and, through the individual layers, their thickness and their description.

Ticking the 'Hydro' allows you to associate (to the surveys that contain this information) different colors to each layer according to the hydrogeological or geological formation associated to them.
