For its history and personal inclinations, Faunalia is especially careful about reducing as much as possible its environmental footprint. In particular we:
- reduce our movements, preferring to work from remote (especially by internet: system administration via secure shell [ssh], spreading of information via web [http], etc.)
- prefer collective transportation to individual cars
- use whenever possible car pooling and car sharing
- reduce energy consumption by limiting heating and cooling
- reduce printing and reuse paper
- select low environment-friendly office equipment
- use only electricity from certified renewable resources
- have longer computer hardware life cycles, by careful configuration of software, and prefer the reuse of components and trashware
- devote a part of our time to conservation initiatives, especially through World Conservation Union (IUCN)
